Shenandoah Mill Wedding in Gilbert, Arizona - Lauren and Chris
Lauren and Chris were married on a bright and warm afternoon at the rustic Shenandoah Mill in Gilbert. The historic building, originally a flour mill that operated in the 1920s in Virginia, was moved and rebuilt in its present Arizona location in 1999. The wooden building and surrounding pine trees and greenery feel like a forested hideaway from the surrounding urban desert that characterizes most of Phoenix.
Lauren began her wedding day getting ready with the help of her mother, sister, and maid of honor upstairs in the bride’s room. We just love the exposed wooden rafters and beams of the mill building that set the backdrop here.
Following getting ready, Lauren and Chris decided to share a private first look with each other before the full hustle and bustle of the day kicked in. The water wheel and small bridge on the side of the mill made a lovely backdrop for the two to meet and see each other for the first time on their wedding day!
Next, it was time for fun portraits with the small bridal party. The bridesmaid and maid of honor wore flowing, bright fuchsia dresses, and the groomsman and best woman wore navy blue to complement the groom’s royal blue suit. The closeness of this tight-knit group was evident in the fun and laughter of their photos!
The procession was set to a solo bagpipe performance by Jim Hartman, beginning with the flowergirl and ringbearers, followed by Lauren accompanied down the aisle by her father.
Lauren and Chris exchanged vows on the beautiful green lawn of the mill’s Enchanted Garden, against the rustic backdrop of a vine-wrapped wooden pergola, white curtains, and chandelier.
After a full night of celebration with their families, Lauren and Chris wrapped up their wedding night with a glowing sparkler farewell! We wish these two the best in their new life together!
